Family Dollar Stores, Inc. has named Jason Reiser to the position of senior vp/merchandising. Reiser replaces John Scanlon, who retired from the retailer in March.
Reiser will supervise the retailer’s health, beauty, personal care and household teams. Prior to joining Family Dollar, he worked for Sam’s Club in a variety of roles, most recently serving as vp/merchandising, health and family care.
Family Dollar also announced today that Paul White, executive vp and chief merchandising officer, has left the company. While Family Dollar engages in a search for White’s replacement, Michael Bloom, president and CEO, will assume executive responsibility for merchandising.
“In our ongoing efforts to better meet the needs of our core customer and growing trade-in customer, we are excited to welcome Reiser to the team,” Bloom said. “Reiser brings more than 17 years of experience in discount retail, and I am confident that his experience and familiarity with our customers will be an enormous asset to our leadership team.”
