Today, Sears Canada Inc. announced that its board of directors has appointed E.J. Bird interim CFO. Bird will continue to serve as a director of Sears Canada, a role he has held since 2006, and will step down as lead director and member of the audit committee.
Bird has worked extensively in the investment arena, according to the company, is an independent director at Global Water Resources Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona and at Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. of Hoffman Estates, Illinois and has most recently led his own company business providing consulting services. He and his wife founded Blue Ridge Christian Academy near Tigerville, South Carolina in 2003, where he served as treasurer of the school until this past January.
