Sears Recognized For Energy Star Initiatives

The United States Environmental Protection Agency has recognized Sears Holdings with a 2013 Energy Star Partner of the Year- Sustained Excellence Award for its efforts to protect the environment through energy efficiency. The agency is recognizing Sears both for its role as a retailer of Energy Star certified products and for energy management in its stores, the company said.

  • The introduction of the Kenmore Connect web platform that can put consumers together with Sears Most Efficient program including 48 clothes washers and 11 refrigerators.
  • Continued development of the Sears and Kmart green websites, Sears.com/green and Kmart.com/green, that now includes social media components.
  • Pursuit of strong relationship with local utilities through Sears Green Leadership team, an effort that generates awareness for the Energy Star brand.
