Today, SodaStream International announced the preview of the AquaBar, a plumbed-in, plugged-in counter-top machine that caters to a full range of home water needs. AquaBar, by Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni, dispenses purified and filtered sparkling, hot, cold and ambient water.
The product will preview at Giovannoni’s studio in the Tortona district of Milan on April 17, as part of the annual Salone Internazionale del Mobile design exhibition in Milan.
“The AquaBar will help save the environment by allowing consumers to avoid buying plastic bottles, and will also improve the functionality of the kitchen by making tasks simpler,” said the designer. “This unique system provides all of the water functions needed in the home or office, with a stylish and friendly design character that will proudly find its place in the world’s most crowded and precious real estate, the kitchen counter.”
Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream, stated “I’m very excited about the AquaBar, which will change our everyday water habits by providing the most convenient way to enjoy water. For the first time, SodaStream is offering a fully integrated water station that fulfills all of our water needs— ambient, hot, cold and sparkling— all from purified and filtered water. The combination of this functionality with Stephano’s stunning design results in a product that everyone would love to have in their kitchen. The AquaBar is an important step towards SodaStream’s ultimate solution of a single-serve system that delivers soda at the push of a button.”
