The Container Store has partnered with long-time product vendor, Iris USA, to donate almost 10,000 storage boxes to the town of West, TX, for use in the relief efforts following the recent fertilizer plant explosion. The storage boxes will be distributed in part to the local school for the storage and transportation of school equipment and also to affected families to help store and protect their remaining belongings.
“We have been deeply saddened by the tragedy in West,” said Kip Tindell, chairman and CEO of The Container Store. “Being so close to home and part of our company culture to help the communities surrounding us, we wanted to help in any way we could.”
Casey Shilling, The Container Store’s vp/public relations and marketing communications, and former West resident, will be in West to aid in distributing the storage boxes. “As a hometown West girl, I am personally overwhelmed with the generosity and spirit of not only The Container Store, but of the fellow residents of West,” she stated. “This town is small, but big in heart and will grow even stronger as we begin the rebuilding process.”
