TK Products, Inc. announced that it has been issued U.S. patent number 8,584,886 for the manual compaction device in the TK10, “the ultimate home trash krusher” trashcan. The patent holders are TK co-founders Peter Ellman and John Hyle, inventors of the TK10.
”We are thrilled to be awarded this patent while our product is still in its first year on the market,” said Ellman. “The patent will help ensure that our eco-friendly technology will remain exclusive in the home and kitchen wares industry.”
“The market is embracing the TK10 for its stylish design, ease of use, and eco-friendly benefits. Receiving a patent on the compaction device will help us continue the momentum,” added Hyle.
The patent claim is for a self-contained garbage or trash container system with an integrated removable, manual compaction device designed primarily for home or industrial use. The system includes “an outer receptacle with attached hinged lid; an internal receptacle; a compaction device; and an attachment mechanism integrated into the lid and/or the compaction device as part of the system to house compaction device.”
The TK10 is now available at Amazon.com and in the Frontgate and Chefs catalogs, or directly from the company at trashkrusher.com.
