Walmart has reassigned more than a dozen top merchants as part of a realignment of responsibilities with the goal of better recognizing and addressing customer needs, according to published reports. The stated basis of the reports is a memo from chief merchandising and marketing officer Duncan Mac Naughton.
Among the key moves in the shuffle, Scott Huff assumes the role of executive vp/merchandising operations after serving as senior vp/consumables. Michelle Gloeckler will take on Huff’s previous responsibilities but with the title of executive vp/consumables and U.S. manufacturing. She had been senior vp/home with responsibilities for supervising the retailer’s domestic sourcing initiative.
In addition, John Aden, formerly executive vp/merchandising services, assumes the freshly minted role of executive vp/sales innovation, which will leave him in charge of identifying new service and product offerings.
