Wüsthof Reinforces Retail Network With Increased Channel IQ Partnership

Wüsthof has announced its increased partnership with Channel IQ, a provider of online retail intelligence solutions and reaffirmed its “Authorized Retailer Badging Program,” in a move to reinforce the company’s commitment to its strategic network of online retailers, and to protect the brand from unauthorized sellers on the internet.

Effective immediately, a small, customized badge, which includes Wüsthof’s logo and the tagline “Verified by Channel IQ” will be made available exclusively to authorized Wüsthof internet retailers. This upgraded authenticity program is designed to communicate the online retailer’s legitimacy as authorized by Wüsthof and specifically to alert consumers that authorization is confirmed by a credible third party, the company said.

Wüsthof also announced the undertaking of a massive clean-up effort of online sales. This consists of detailed investigations and enforcement of unauthorized sellers, including aggressive takedowns and legal action against infringing parties, the company said.

“The growing demand for our products and the current online purchasing trend makes it paramount for us to have better controls in place on the Internet,” said Todd Myers, VP Sales at Wüsthof. “CIQ has partnered with us at every turn to ensure our methods and practices protect the Wüsthof brand, our pricing and our distribution while strengthening our qualified retail partner’s effort. We believe this ‘Badging’ initiative will be a huge piece in our overall strategy for years to come.”

“Wüsthof’s continued commitment to the Authorized Retailer Verification program is instrumental in helping drive online retailer adoption in the housewares industry,” said Jeff Messer, GM/retail solutions for Channel IQ. “We are excited to continue on our quest together in making the IQ authorized seal a key differentiator for their retailers and one that consumers will rely on whenever they shop online.”
