Laurie Burns, director of tabletop building Forty One Madison, said that October’s New York Tabletop Market was attended by buyers and retail executives across retail channels, including those from national department stores, big box chains and independent specialty stores.
I believe this market marked a turning point in the industry at a time consumer confidence is on the uptick. We had a number of new companies in the building, many for the first time, with really innovative, colorful and fun designs. There was a wealth of introductions, showroom expansions, remodeled spaces, and a general sense that the industry has stabilized,” said Burns in a statement.
Market highlights included a breakfast seminar and panel discussion moderated by Greg Furman, founder and director of the Luxury Marketing Council and three color-filled lobby settings created by Mottahedeh and Traditional Home magazine.
The 2010 New York Tabletop Markets will take place Tuesday to Friday, April 13-16 and October 12-15.
