Ace Hardware, the retailer-owned cooperative made up of 4,100 locally owned and operated hardware stores, has announced its participation in “Small Business Saturday.” On November 30, shoppers can head to their participating neighborhood Ace Hardware store to take advantage of this fourth annual national event that encourages consumers to shop at local small businesses across the country.
“We’re proud to have our locally-owned and operated Ace stores participating in ‘Small Business Saturday’ once again,” said John Surane, svp/marketing, merchandising and sales, for Ace Hardware Corp. “Our retailers are part of the fabric of the communities they serve and treat their customers like neighbors because they truly are their neighbors. Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to celebrate our nation’s entrepreneurial spirit and empower people to do something positive for their community by supporting local businesses.”
The “Small Business Saturday” national event was created by American Express in 2010, founded to help the small businesses that are important to the local communities in which they operate. This year, American Express will give customers using an American Express card a one-time $10 statement credit when they register their card for “Small Business Saturday” and spend $10 or more at a qualifying small business on November 30.
