Aldi has issued a recall for deep fryers after receiving three reports of units catching on fire and causing minor property damage, according to information from the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission.
The CPSC said the recall involves Ambiano brand mini deep fryers sold in two colors— brushed stainless steel and red— with each equipped with a black lid and sold with a metal food basket. The deep frying heating element can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards. No injuries have been reported.
The deep fryers, manufactured in China by Guangzhou Linkco Electrical Industries Limited, were sold in Aldi stores nationwide in February and March of this year for $15.
Consumers have been instructed to immediately stop using the recalled deep fryers and return them to their local Aldi store for a full refund.
