Alibaba will bring the experience of its 11.11 selling festival to international audiences outside of China through a series of livestreamed events, each to be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. eastern time on November 10 and November 11.
The events will feature live and exclusive access to Alibaba executives and interviews with leading brands and industry experts, as well as behind-the-scenes looks into festival activities.
New brands and small businesses can participate in the shopping 11.11 spree this year, Alibaba noted, by taking advantage of its expanded event, which includes a November 1 to 3 period as well as the 24 hours of November 11. They also can take advantage, as can other participants, in pre-sale periods spanning October 21 to October 31 and from November 4 to November 10.
In an effort to help American small- and medium-sized businesses go global, Alibaba recently launched its first-ever 11.11 Go Global Pitch Fest initiative. It selected nine winning brands to launch on its e-commerce Tmall Global website, a cross-border marketplace, and providing them with export access to China. They will get feature treatment during the 11.11 event, Alibaba said.
