Amazon has expanded the features of its Alexa smart home device to include enhanced features that relate to the kitchen and cooking.
On the product side, the company will soon launch its AmazonBasics Microwave. According to the listing on Amazon.com, the unit will be available November 14 but is now available for pre-orders.
The microwave, which is able to be paired with an Alexa-enabled device, features a compact size, 10 power levels, a kitchen timer, child lock and turntable and is priced at $59.99. It is also equipped with an auto popcorn replenishment feature that allows the user to reorder popcorn via the Amazon Dash Replenishment technology.
In addition, the Cook with Alexa feature allows the end-user through Alexa to find step-by-step cooking instructions from various outlets including Kitchen Stories, Allrecipes, Epicurious, Food52, TheKitchn, and SideChef.
