So far, Amazon has been enjoying a record breaking holiday sales period, according to the retailer, with top selling items in home categories including the iRobot Roomba 675 Robot Vacuum.
Besides the iRobot vacuum, home and housewares products that have been moving fast in the holiday season included the Instant Pot Duo 80 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker, Linenspa 6-Inch Innerspring Twin Mattress, Keurig K-Classic Coffee Maker, Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder, Cosori Air Fryer, Brita Ultra Max Filtering Dispenser, National Tree Crestwood Spruce Garland and Mr. Coffee Mug Warmer. In the beauty and wellness segment, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Classic electric toothbrush emerged as a consumer favorite.
As for its store operations, the company pointed out that Amazon 4-star stores enjoyed success with the Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer.
In addition, the company said it is once again expanding its distribution center network, this time in Florida. Amazon stated that it would open a fulfillment center in Deltona, FL. Employees at the more than one million-square-foot fulfillment center there will pick, pack and ship large customer items ranging from sports equipment to patio furniture to bulkier household goods.
“We’re excited to continue our investment in Florida and further expand our presence in the state with this new fulfillment center in Deltona,” said Alicia Boler Davis, Amazon vp/global customer fulfillment. “Since 2013, Amazon has invested more than $5 billion in Florida through local fulfillment centers and cloud infrastructure, research facilities and compensation to thousands of employees in the state.”
