Downdetector.com has reported that the problems Amazon.com has suffered with outages on its website have fallen significantly since peaking shortly after the start of Prime Day yesterday, July 16, at 3 p.m. eastern time.
Downdetector, which monitors problems that occur on major websites, indicated that far fewer shoppers are reporting problems with connecting to Amazon.
Yesterday evening, Amazon Tweeted a statement on its connection issues:
“Some customers are having difficulty shopping, and we’re moving to resolve this issue quickly. Many are shopping successfully— in the first hour of Prime Day in the U.S., customers have ordered more items compared to the first hour last year. There are hundreds of thousands of deals to come and more than 34 hours to shop Prime Day.”
