Amazon.com’s continuing desire to speed up delivery of goods to its customers has taken another step in New York City.
According to a report in the Wall St. Journal, the dot-com retailer is testing bike messengers to offer deliver in the megalopolis. The report said the goal of the new service, Amazon Prime Now, is to deliver items to Manhattan customers within one to two hours.
Amazon has been running tests with three courier services in an effort to select the fastest and most careful messenger service. Bike messengers have been seen working out of a building Amazon recently leased at West 34th Street near the Empire State Building and Macy’s Herald Square store, the report said.
