The holidays have been generous to Amazon.com, which touted that it enjoyed a record-breaking season with more items ordered worldwide than ever before.
Customers have been smartening up their homes for the holidays this year with top-selling smart home devices, including the iRobot Roomba 690 robotic vacuum.
The company emphasized the success of its private label products with best-selling Amazon brand items in the U.S. including the Stone & Beam ceramic geometric table lamp. Consumers purchased millions more Amazon voice-command devices this holiday season versus last year’s period, the retailer stated.
As for action at its physical stores, Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, Amazon Go, and Whole Foods Market had customer traffic interested in housewares such as the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker.
Prime membership continued to grow this holiday season, Amazon asserted, pointing out that cities where consumers most frequently used Prime Now and Whole Foods Market grocery delivery were Boston, Hoboken, NJ, and San Francisco.
“This season was our best yet, and we look forward to continuing to bring our customers what they want, in ways most convenient for them in 2019. We are thrilled that in the U.S. alone, more than one billion items shipped for free this holiday with Prime,” said Jeff Wilke, Amazon CEO worldwide consumer.
