As Prime Day Begins, Amazon’s Site Crashes

Amazon’s annual Prime Day went live at 3 p.m. EDT, and soon after the website crashed.

Media outlets were reporting the outage just after Prime Day started, but the Seattle-based company did not comment on what caused the outage.

A visit to Amazon.com by HomeWorldBusiness.com at 3:30 p.m. EDT found a Prime Day landing page in place, but category hotlinks did not lead to any deals across several product categories, including home.

Amazon was initially planning to run Prime Day over 36 hours through the end-of-day July 17.
