Amid reports of more store closures as part of its overall strategy, Bed Bath & Beyond has named Patty Wu as svp and general manager for its buybuy Baby banner, effective January 18.
Wu will report to John Hartmann, evp and coo at Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. and president of buybuy Baby.
Wu’s responsibilities include growing buybuy Baby and its customer base by executing a six-point strategy and capital investment plan. The strategy will build on successful work across the company’s core Bed Bath & Beyond portfolio and include introducing customer-inspired owned brands, as well as extending the product range to include items for young children as well as babies and toddlers.
Wu joins buybuy Baby from Beautycounter, where she served as its chief commercial officer. Before that, she was chief commercial officer and general manager of the Baby Division at The Honest Co. held senior management roles at Mattel and Walmart.
Published reports note that Bed, Bath & Beyond has targeted 43 more of its stores for closure as part of an ongoing commitment to shutter 200 locations.
