Bed Bath & Beyond has acknowledged a security breach that had a third party acquire e-mail and password information from a source inside the company.
The breach was made public in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission dated October 29, 2019.
According to the retailer, the breach accesses less than 1% of the company’s online customer accounts. Customers impacted were notified of the breach by Bed Bath & Beyond officials.
The retailer said it does not expect the incident to have a material effect on its results or cash flow.
