Bed Bath Positions Oxo ‘Best’ Bakeware

NEW YORK— Oxo Good Grips branded bakeware has officially been launched at Bed Bath & Beyond, providing a top tier offering for the specialty retailer in the metal bakeware category.

A recent visit to a store in New York showcased the bakeware line in a merchandise mix with Wilton, USA Pan and Chicago Metallic bakeware brands.

With suggested retail prices starting at $14.99 for a 10- by 15-inch jelly roll, the Oxo Good Grips collection is positioned as a “best” offering in a good, better, best merchandising format, with a similar sized pan retailing at $10.99 and $9.99 from USA Pan and Wilton’s Advance collection, respectively. The line maxes out at $79.99 for a 5-piece set that includes a 13- by 18-inch half sheet pan, a 12-cup muffin pan, a 1-pound loaf pan and two 9-inch round cake pans.

At one New York area location, the line was merchandised on an end-cap adjacent to the retailer’s racetrack-style design. The display included an 8.5- by 11-inch merchandising board calling out the key features of the line, which were also highlighted in an October 3 e-mail marketing promotion from the retailer.

The bakeware is manufactured in the U.S. by USA Pan and is made from aluminized steel. It has a commercial gauge and is the only line at the retailer that offers a gold tone. Like USA Pan’s offerings, the bakeware features a textured pattern that is said to ensure even baking, promote airflow, add structural rigidity and prevent warping. Additionally, square-rolled edges add reinforcement for structure and durability of the line, while providing a secure grip for easy handling and transferring to and from the oven, the company noted.

The bakeware line also features a coating developed by Ilag and is a Swiss-engineered PTFE, two-layer, commercial-grade coating that is said to be scratch-, stain-, corrosion- and abrasion-resistant.

Earlier this year, Oxo broadened its housewares line with bakeware, small electrics, and a food preservation storage assortment.
