Beka Debuts Cast Aluminum Casseroles With Ceramic Non-Stick

NEW YORK— Beka has introduced Cook’on, a line of cast aluminum casseroles that are designed to provide similar performance to cast iron but at a lighter weight.
Beka’s new Cook’on aluminum casseroles provide the same heat conductivity properties as cast iron without all the extra weight, the company said.
“The Cook’on is great for roasting, simmering and slow cooking,” Adelheid Deltour,  Beka CEO, said. “It works just as well or better than cast iron without all that extra weight, plus you get the benefit of knowing that you have purchased a product from a company that is committed to the environment and people.”
Beka’s Cook’on casseroles are constructed from a hardened cast aluminum that is then coated with Beka’s Bekadur Ceramica coating, a PTFE- and PFOA-free ceramic non-stick coating. Bekadur Ceramica works in conjunction Cook’on’s aluminum construction to provide fast and efficient heat conductivity, allowing foods to be cooked on medium and low temperatures that consume less energy, the company said.
The non-stick coating also makes the Cook’on casseroles ideal for searing and browning meats with only a small amount of fat or oil needed for healthy low fat cooking and clean up is done in seconds. Beka guarantees its Bekadur non-stick surface for three years.
The Cook’on is available in five different sizes. Three round casseroles measure 8, 9.5 and 11 inches in diameter and two oval vessels measure 10 and 12 inches, respectively.
Features on the Cook’on casseroles include cast aluminum handles with removable, heat resistant silicone covers designed to provide optimum comfort when handling. Both the oval and round casseroles are available with either a black or ivory exterior, and are suitable for use on all cooktops including induction.
“These casseroles are shaped just like a traditional piece of cast iron cookware, but you don’t have to be a weight lifter to move them around the kitchen,” Deltour said. “Their light weight aluminum construction makes them easy to handle.”
