Bialetti Italy has partnered with Oceana, an international advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the ecosystems of the world’s oceans with campaigns to reduce pollution from single-use plastics.
In support of the partnership, Bialetti said it is donating to Oceana, encouraging consumers to do the same while also highlighting the sustainability of its iconic Moka Express stovetop espresso maker in a social media campaign.
In addition, Bialetti said it is educating consumers on the Moka Express’s sustainable attributes on its website and social media platform as well as product packaging. The company said it will showcase the product as an eco-sustainable method of preparing coffee, as the only waste it produces is biodegradable and 100% compostable.
The brand also said the Moka Express represents a responsible investment both for the 10-year minimum life of the coffee maker and because cleaning requires only washing with water, and not potentially polluting chemical detergents.
As part of the social media campaign, consumers are encouraged to follow and use the hashtag #wakeupfortheoceans as a way to show their commitment to protecting the oceans by using more responsible products.
Additionally, Bialetti showed its commitment to the cause by replacing all the plastic bags that wrap Moka Express with 100% recyclable paper wrappers.
