BJ’s Touts Community Support As It Prepares Kearny Store

BJ’s Wholesale Club is preparing to open a new 85,000 square foot location at 180 Passaic Avenue in Kearny, NJ. The new club will provide the community with about 140 jobs, the company said.

As part of the opening celebration, the company gave a $10,000 BJ’s Charitable Foundation grant to the Kearny Recreation Department to help fund the lighting of local Harvey Field.

BJ’s also is giving the Recreation Department and other organizations the chance to earn up to $100,000 in funds through its Fuel Your Fundraiser program, the company added. Charities participating in the program receive funds based on helping BJ’s generate new and renewed memberships.

“BJ’s Wholesale Club is privileged to serve the Kearny community, and we’re proud of the positive impact we have on local children and families,” said Robert Reyes, the general manager of the BJ’s Kearny location. “We’re pleased to be coming to Kearny later this summer, and we’re thrilled to present this grant to the Kearny Recreation Department.”
