Bodum, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling the two-slice and four-slice versions of its Bistro toaster.
According to the CPSC, there have been eight reports of consumers being shocked when touching the toaster. No injuries have been reported. All incidents reported took place in Canada. The recall involves about 2,400 units sold in the U.S. and an additional 1,480 units sold in Canada.
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the recalled toasters and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund or contact Bodum to receive a prepaid mailer to return the toaster for a full refund.
The toasters were manufactured in China and sold at home appliance stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com and other websites from September 2018 through June 2019 for between $24 and $44.
