Bright Fireplace Prospects Spark HPBA Educational Campaign

New research emerging from the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association demonstrates that more consumers are interested in adding a fireplace to their homes.

To help guide would-be fireplace purchasers in their buying effort, the association has launched #FiresideChats, a communications program developed to educate consumers on the overall fireplace market and encourage investing in premium hearth products.

“More than one-third of North American homeowners plan to purchase a new hearth appliance in the next two years, including indoor and outdoor hearth products,” said Emily McGee, director of communications, HPBA. “With there being a greater interest in hearth products, we want to make it even easier for consumers to understand the industry and the many benefits of hearth.”

HPMA noted that #FiresideChats is an interactive campaign engaging consumers online with tips about investing and/or expanding their hearth investment. To get the program rolling, HPBA will host a series of Facebook Live events on the newly launched @hpba_hearth Facebook page, with the first scheduled fort 1 p.m. eastern time on March 14 and the rest running later in the month.

The events include:

  • Which Hearth is Right for You: Wood, Gas or Electric? Guest John Crouch, HPBA director of public affairs, discusses the pros and cons of different types of hearth products live from the floor of HPBExpo, the largest trade show for the indoor hearth and outdoor patio industry held in the U.S.
  • Hearth Benefits: Why Invest in Hearth? A HPBA presentation on the benefits of investing in hearth products that addresses common concerns including cost, safety and air quality.
  • Where to Buy Your Hearth. A retail expert will guide potential buyers through the hearth retail experience to ensure that consumers recognize the safest and smartest way to purchase hearth and hearth accessories.
