Capresso Nabs Design Award For Espresso/Cappuccino Maker

The Capresso EC PRO Professional Espresso & Cappuccino Machine has won a 2014 Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum, the only independent museum of architecture and design in the United States.

The Good Design Awards honors quality design of the highest form, function and aesthetic. According to the company, the EC PRO won based on its cutting-edge design, concept, materials, construction, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.

Equipped with two filter options, the EC PRO is touted as allowing coffee lovers to prepare barista-quality espresso. The heavy-duty double spout espresso filter, designed for beginners, is convenient and easy to use, brewing one or two espressos at a time. The EC PRO’s bottomless espresso filter lets users brew barista style.

According to the company, the EC PRO features an advanced pump boiler system that maintains a reservoir of hot water at the perfect espresso brewing temperature for a faster, hotter and more consistent brew. This pump boiler system is said to keep six ounces of water at the ideal brewing temperature, for a consistent temperature in every shot with hotter and faster steaming of milk.
