In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, CE North America has recalled its KUL brand fan heaters.
The recall was prompted by four reports of the fan overheating and catching fire. No injuries have been reported.
About 28,000 heaters are impacted by the recall. The units were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond between August 2015 and October 2015 at an estimated SRP of $20. This recall involves KUL small, black portable fan heaters. The KUL logo is printed on the front bottom of the heaters next to the power dial. An adhesive label is on the bottom of the heater with model number KU39229 and “Date: 0515” in the lower right-hand corner.
Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the fan heaters and contact CE North America for instructions on returning the recalled heaters with a prepaid shipping label. The firm will issue a refund check upon receipt of the returned fan heaters, according to the CPSC.
