Chief Merchant Stark Out At Bed Bath & Beyond

Arthur Stark, Bed Bath & Beyond’s president and chief merchandising officer, has left the retailer as of May 17, the home specialty chain reported in a filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission.

The filing did not indicate a reason or reasons for his departure but did note that on or about June 4, Stark would start an uncompensated role as a senior advisor to company CEO Steven Temares.

In addition, the SEC filing also noted that Temares has voluntarily agreed to waive $500,000 in salary for a period of one year commencing with the company’s payroll period of May 13. The waiver follows previous reductions to his salary since fiscal year 2015, the filing said.
