Civil Stoneware has made its market debut with a new tableware collection, which is handmade in Birmingham, AL.
The stoneware is crafted by a team of artists led by Katherine Tucker, a potter who has been throwing pots for more than 17 years. Civil Stoneware uses high fire black stoneware clay that is fully vitrified, so it is both food safe and dishwasher friendly, the company said. The clay has smooth, porcelain-like properties and is mixed in-house in Santa Ana, CA.
The Civil Stoneware collection consists of dishes and trays, cups, spoons, dry goods scoops, an orb bowl, an olive server, bottle opener, butter knife, salt and pepper shaker, lavender candle, a pendant light, and a pour over coffee maker with reusable linen filter.
