CleverMade is debuting new collapsible baskets that aim to give consumers durable, functional alternatives to reusable shopping bags, Tom Quinn, co-founder and CEO, told HOMEWORLD BUSINESS®.
CleverMade is going to market with two new design and utility-patented products, SnapBasket and EcoBasket, with the slogan “Bag-less is better.”
The new SnapBasket (suggested retail $19.99 and less) is marketed for use for food shopping as well as a utility basket, laundry basket or for outdoor outings such as the beach and picnics. It is only one inch when collapsed and features a built-in SnapHinge to have it snap open to a full 30 liters. The SnapBasket weighs only 1.3 pounds but has a weight capacity of over 50 pounds, noted the company.
The basket is also designed to be sturdy enough to prevent tipping, with five “feet” on its base and a rigid steel top frame that is designed to maintain its shape when open. It also has a stain repellent treatment on its exterior and a polyurethane coating inside. The SnapBasket also features an interior zippered storage pocket for extra storage, and is available in an extra large size, which holds 45 liters.
CleverMade’s SnapBasket will launch in Home Depot in June, QVC in early July and will test in clubs in late July, according to the company.
