Consumer Research Shapes Libbey’s New Glassware Designs

Chosen by its consumer research group, Libbey will introduce new glassware designs at this year’s International Home + Housewares Show.

According to the company, its research group presented insights into what consumers are looking for when purchasing glassware for the home, and market tested 31 glassware designs developed by Libbey. Of those, four emerged as the consumers’ favorites and will be launched at this year’s show.

According to the company, the Eliptic pattern was the top pick among Millennials and a favorite with women. It features swirls and an unconventional shape. The overall favorite, Trafford, brings a linear effect for a comfortable feel in the hand. For the men in the group, Stamford reigned. It features a versatile shape, ideal for everything from iced tea to beer. The final of the four fan favorites, the Tripoli glass, was a top choice among families. It features fun and textured bubble patterns.
