Newell Rubbermaid’s Contigo brand was recently awarded a Red Dot Award for two of its products in the design competition: the Autoseal Tritan Pitcher and Autoclose Shake & Go Tumbler.
“From stopping leaks and spills to accommodating popular new drinking styles and beverages, our Tritan Pitcher and Shake & Go Tumblers are perfect examples of how Contigo applies meaningful innovation and design to address the challenges facing today’s busy customers,” said Todd Starr, vp/marketing and product development.
“Continuous innovation and sophisticated industrial design set Contigo apart and allow us to produce the best drinkware solutions for our customers. We are proud to receive this Red Dot award as it reaffirms our commitment to identifying consumer needs, creating the best possible product and packaging it in an elegant and premium design that stands out from the crowd,” added Starr.
Contigo’s Tritan Pitcher is said to automatically seal for freshness between uses and stay spill and “leak-proof” between pours, according to the company. Contigo’s Autoseal technology provides convenient, one-handed operation. A “quick-release” top gives access to add water or ice, or stir with spoons or whisks, without removing the lid and handle. The Autoseal Pitcher set includes an infuser stick and an ice core to keep beverages chilled without diluting flavor.
Developed to evenly distribute flavor enhancers and quickly/evenly cool down iced drinks, Contigo’s Autoclose Shake & Go Tumbler features a unique “trap door” design that snaps shut when the straw is removed to ensure “leak-proof” shaking and mixing, according to the company. Sized for single serve mix-in packets, as well as iced coffees and teas, the Shake & Go Tumbler comes in a 16 ounce size, as well as a taller 20 ounce design. Constructed of Tritan, the double wall design keeps beverages colder longer and prevents sweating.
