With the COVID-19 pandemic prompting changes in wedding plans, Crate & Barrel is launching the Love&Gifts Wedding Registry Contest to surprise 10 couples with every item on their wedding registries at Crate & Barrel up to $2,500 and $1,000 donations in their honor to Feeding America.
Any couple with an active or newly created Crate & Barrel wedding registry can participate in the contest by sharing their story and a photo that best represents their relationship through March 31, the retailer announced.
Although wedding showers and ceremonies have proceeded at a smaller scale than might have been the case or virtual, couples across the country still are registering at Crate & Barrel. However, according to a recent survey conducted by the retailer, four out of five recently engaged or married couples say that the pandemic had a somewhat or significant impact on their wedding plans. The survey also indicated that 59% of couples have decreased their wedding guest lists, 52% have delayed or postponed their wedding and 38% have canceled pre-wedding activities. One result of the changes has been that a significant portion of wedding registry wish lists remain unfulfilled. Crate & Barrel developed the Love&Gifts contest to help turn that trend around.
“Couples come to Crate & Barrel to create their wedding registry and build a home that’s undeniably theirs,” said Alicia Waters, Crate & Barrel chief marketing officer. “Registry should be a fun part of their wedding journey, a bright spot for couples as they celebrate their new life together. Through this contest, we will help 10 lucky couples receive the wedding registry of their dreams.”
