Dallas Market Center has announced that Chris Hanmer, winner of Bravo’s “Top Chef Just Desserts,” will present a cooking demonstration on Saturday, Jan. 18 at noon on The Culinary Stage during the Dallas Total Housewares & Gourmet Market, which runs January 15-21, 2014.
Hanmer’s culinary career has progressed from peeling potatoes at a country club at the age of 15 to claiming a gold medal as the youngest-ever American chef to win a World Pastry Team Championship. In 2006, he became the executive pastry chef for the Ritz-Carlton Lake in Las Vegas, and in 2010 opened The School of Pastry Design in Las Vegas.
In 2011, Chris took home the winning title on Bravo’s “Top Chef Just Desserts.” Most recently, he opened CH Patisserie, a new pastry shop in Sioux Falls, SD. His sugar sculptures and chocolate showpieces have graced the pages of major global food magazines and appeared on the Food Network.
Dallas Total Housewares & Gourmet Market, held in conjunction with the Total Home & Gift Market, features an array of exhibitors, special events, seminars and cooking and product demonstrations. Hanmer’s appearance is the centerpiece of a full schedule of demonstrations and events on The Culinary Stage celebrating the gourmet and housewares products available at Market.
