D&H Distributing has reported that its home environment category has expanded by 21% in sales, after increased focus in the area.
The distributor also reported growth in key home sub-categories such as connected home solutions (121%), health and wellness products (78%), kitchen housewares (23%) and floor care and cleaning products (23%).
According to the company, increased performance in these home sub-categories were due to initiatives in demand generation, training and consumer engagement. Last year, the company said it also made investments in enhanced engagement opportunities, involving its customer base in providing feedback and best practices insights, especially during trade events.
“Last year, D&H dealers found themselves positioned to take advantage of new opportunities, including in home environment categories such as connected home products and health and fitness. D&H wanted to take a more proactive role in guiding those customers, engaging them during our trade events and utilizing feedback to deliver the most relevant products and services to support that potential,” said Dan Schwab, co-president, D&H Distributing. “We set the groundwork to deliver this in the past fiscal year and will continue to build value through comprehensive support in fiscal year 2017.”
