Disney, Kohl’s Win Top Honors At Licensing Awards

The consumer products initiative associated with Disney’s popular animated movie “Frozen” took top honors as Overall Best Licensed Program at the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association’s annual International Licensing Awards. Kohl’s Department Stores received the Retailer of the Year Award for its in-store presentation of “Frozen” licensed merchandise.

LIMA revealed the winners at a ceremony held earlier this month at the 2015 Licensing Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

“Frozen” also won in the Film, Television, or Entertainment (Animated) Program category. For its Disney’s Frozen/Snow Glow Elsa doll, JAKKS Pacific tied with Playmates Toys’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles product line for the win in the Film, Television or Entertainment Animated Licensee: Hard Goods category. Mojang’s hit video game Minecraft swept the Digital category.

Other winners included, in the Corporate Brand Program of the awards, HGTV Home, Scripps Networks/Beanstalk.
