Dyson has opened a flagship Dyson Demo retail location on Fifth Avenue in New York City, designed to encourage consumers to pick up, test and understand the company’s technology.
According to the company, interactive demonstrations bring to life the science at the heart of its machines, and Dyson experts are available to explain products and provide recommendations that will best suit customers’ lifestyles. Visitors to the demo store have access to the company’s hair care, air purification, floor care and lighting products.
For example, hair styling stations feature the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, and an in-store salon offers complimentary styling appointments. In addition, a Dyson purifier sits in a glass box that can be filled with smoke. Visitors can watch the appliance clean the air, using its sensors to detect and remove the particles. Visitors can also test Dyson’s latest vacuum technology, using the V8 cord-free vacuum to clean up messes made in-store.
“In order for people to understand how our technology works, it is imperative they have the opportunity to test and experience our products. This space is designed with that in mind. There isn’t another place in the world that captures Dyson – our spirit and our machines – like the Dyson Demo. It’s quite exciting to be opening in New York City, bringing hair science and purified air to Fifth Avenue,” said James Dyson, chief engineer and chairman of the company.
