At an event yesterday in New York City, Dyson unveiled its V6 Digital Motor Absolute, which the company stated is the first cordless vacuum with dual cleaner heads that tackle everything from fine dust and dirt to larger particles, such as cereal.
According to Dyson, the more powerful V6 digital motor spins 110,00 RPMs and can move 15 liters of air a second. The new V6 digital motor will also be featured in the rest of Dyson’s new cordless vacuum line, including the V6 Fluffy for hard floor cleaning, that will replace the company’s line of DC cordless vacuums.
The V6 Absolute comes with two Dyson-engineered cleaner heads. Designed for hard floor surfaces, the new soft roller cleaner head uses a larger roller covered in soft woven nylon material and rows of carbon fiber filaments that come together to provide tight suction for picking up fine particles such as sand or sugar.
The V6 Absolute also comes with the company’s Motorhead, which has a second drive motor and stiff nylon brushes designed for tackling carpets. It also features a HEPA filter that Dyson said removes 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and has a removable wand for handheld use.
The V6 Absolute comes in red, a new color for the company, and has a suggested retail price of $599.99. It is scheduled to be available on March 1.
