In a promotion that takes a humorous swipe at its chief rival, eBay will host a Crash Sale on July 15 concurrent with Amazon’s Prime Day event.
eBay is alerting consumers that, if Amazon crashes during its two-day Prime Day event, they can visit its site to shop deals on a range of products.
However, eBay is planning to do more this summer than tweak its competitor. The Crash Sale is a high point of a three-week bargain event that eBay will launch on July 1. The promotion will feature discounts of up to 80%. Shoppers, eBay pointed out, always get free shipping on eBay deals with no membership fee required.
The Crash Sale will include some bargains offered over 50% off, and eBay asserted that it will step up its dealmaking if Amazon crashes. A week-long July 4th Savings promotion will emphasize summer essentials, appliances, and more, including stand mixers, cookware and robotic vacuums, up to 85% off. To extend the promotional event, eBay will offer Hot Deals for Hot Days from July 8 to 22, providing two weeks of fresh bargains launching every day on tech, smart home devices and home appliances, among other product categories.
