EveryWare Supports Walmart ‘Made in the USA’ Initiative With Factory Expansion

EveryWare Global, Inc. announced that it is investing $1.8 million to expand factory capacity at its Monaca, PA, facility and produce a new line of “Made in the USA” glass Mainstays Canning Jars for Walmart. The investment, according to EveryWare supports Walmart’s commitment to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S. made products over the next 10 years.

We are excited to be working with such an iconic company on an initiative that we believe is a solid step towards advancing U.S. manufacturing and creating meaningful domestic job growth.”  

EveryWare joined Walmart U.S. president and CEO Bill Simon, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and two other Walmart suppliers— Elan Polo, and Louis Hornick and Company— at a press conference during the inaugural SelectUSA Investment Summit held October 31 in Washington, D.C., to announce this latest initiative. The event follows Walmart’s U.S. Manufacturing Summit held in Orlando on August 22, 2013 that brought over 500 suppliers and government officials together to discuss opportunities for increasing domestic manufacturing.

Simon said, “Today’s announcement is a great example of progress that’s being made, and it highlights opportunities that exist for manufacturers to invest in the USA by re-shoring or expanding their manufacturing in America.”

“Companies, government officials and industry leaders are working together to increase manufacturing and these efforts are helping more Americans get into good-paying jobs and more businesses reinvest in the U.S. economy,” he added.
