Jenny Fleiss has left the CEO role at Jetblack, an operation that emerged from the Walmart idea lab Store No. 8.
Fleiss was instrumental in launching Jetblack, which is a text-based e-commerce business. Recent published reports have stated that Walmart is looking to spin off the business.
A Walmart spokesperson told HomeWorld Business that Fleiss announced to the Jetblack team that she plans to transition away from leading day-to-day business operations, “to focus her entrepreneurial expertise on new areas of our business. She’ll continue to support Jetblack as an advisor, spokesperson and ambassador, and will join the Walmart customer organization as an advisor, reporting directly to Janey Whiteside.”
Whiteside is a Walmart evp and the retailer’s chief customer officer.
With her moving on, Nate Faust, svp/logistics for Walmart.com and a founder of Jetblack, who has been working on the text-commerce platform with Fleiss over the past few months, steps into the operation’s CEO role, the spokesperson stated.
