First Alert has introduced its first Wi-Fi enabled smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, the Onelink by First Alert.
According to the company, the new alarm is paired with Apple’s HomeKit smart technology and is available in hardwire and 10-year sealed lithium battery versions.
The two-in-one alarm protects against threats of smoke and carbon monoxide. Connected functions enable consumers to be notified of emergencies on their iOS devices or Apple Watch. The alarm also can be tested or silenced using the Onelink Home app.
First Alert noted that the Onelink alarm is HomeKit-enabled, and privacy is built in and data is encrypted. The hardware versions are designed to work with most existing interconnected hardwired alarms in the home. All of the alarms wirelessly interconnect via a Bluetooth mesh system with other Onelink alarms in the home when an emergency is detected.
Future Onelink products to be developed for the line will include a Wi-Fi environment monitor, safe and thermostat, the company said.
The Onelink by First Alert smoke and carbon monoxide alarm has an SRP of $119.99 and is available at Lowe’s and Amazon.com, and will soon be available on Apple.com and Apple stores.
