Frieling has entered into a partnership with Germany-based glassware manufacturer Leonardo to distribute the company’s glassware items to retailers in the U.S.
The partnership will bring U.S. retail market penetration to Germany’s top selling glassware brand, Mark Harris, evp/sales at Frieling, told HomeWorld Business, while also expanding Frieling’s portfolio of brands and product assortments.
“It’s a long-term plan, a long-term commitment with the objective being that we bring the brand to market in the U.S. and we build the trade awareness that the brand is well distributed,” Harris said. “It’s a nice fit in our product portfolio as well, and they have some amazing products that really stand out. But Leonardo is more than just drinkware, and that’s what differentiates them in the market.”
Two collections of drink and barware are currently available, La Perla and Spiritii, but Harris noted that additional collections within a variety of segments, including serveware, tableware and coffee/tea, will be added to the lineup in early 2019.
In addition to growing its product portfolio, Harris noted that the company looks to expand its assortment with its current retail customers while also adding new retail channels to its distribution, specifically in the independent and gift channels.
