Gibson Overseas is expanding its melamine dinnerware collection for 2019. The company said it is adding several new designs to meet the increased consumer demand for a category that has seen continued growth in recent years.
The company’s latest melamine options include a wide variety of patterns that feature tropical and contemporary florals in vibrant colors that officials stated mimic the look of ceramics.
“Melamine has turned into a go-to option for casual everyday dining throughout the year. Consumers love the versatility and the colorful designs that add a sophisticated look without having to worry about weight and breakage,” said David Nicklin Gibson’s vp/marketing and licensing.
According to Gibson, new open stock options include the Gibson Home Tribal design and Baypointe, which offer easy to merchandise 4-packs in geometric patterns.
In addition, the new Gibson Home Kealani Garden collection offers Hawaiian-inspired designs across an assortment of items that are designed for both indoor and outdoor entertaining. The collection includes 6-inch bowls, 8.5-inch dessert plates, 10.5-inch dinner plates, 17-inch serving tray, and a 15-inch square platter.
“Melamine is a must-have for today’s home,” Laurie Gates Gibson’s vp/creative and merchandising. “New techniques allow intricate, on-trend patterns to be applied to melamine in a cost-effective way. Melamine is now a canvas for bringing the latest design to everyday meals and at-home entertaining.”
