Gibson Introduces Melamine Dinnerware Designs

In an effort to tap into the growing opportunity within the melamine dinnerware segment, Gibson Overseas has introduced new tropical-inspired melamine dinnerware designs.

The Gibson Home Psycho Tropical dinnerware and Tropical Leaf serveware collections feature vibrantly colored tropical themes on chip-resistant melamine items that are suitable for both everyday dining and summer entertaining, the company said.

“Melamine is a red-hot category,” said David Nicklin, Gibson’s vp/marketing and licensing. “Consumers love that they can get colorful designs that add a sophisticated look without having to worry about weight and breakage.”

Gibson Home Psycho Tropical melamine dinnerware features open stock melamine pieces that bring fun and durable options to both indoor and outdoor dining. Psycho Tropical melamine is available in a 10.5-inch dinner plate, 9-inch dessert plate, 6-inch bowl and 20-ounce tumbler. Gibson Home Tropical Leaf serveware brings vibrant tropical leaf patterns to large light-weight melamine serveware for home entertaining. Items include a serving platter, chip & dip and serving tray.

“Melamine is a must-have for entertaining at home,” added Laurie Gates, Gibson’s vp/creative and merchandising. “New techniques allow intricate, on-trend patterns to be applied to melamine in a very cost-effective way. This allows melamine to be a canvas for bringing the latest designs to home entertaining.”
