Ginsu Brands has introduced the Chikara cutlery collection. The cutlery line features premium forged knives and is part of Ginsu’s new gourmet category.
According to the company, the collection features forged knives crafted from one piece of premium Japanese stainless steel from tip to tang. The Chikara series knives also have rounded, traditional style handles that are said to be heat and water resistant.
“Our forged knives are taking the lead in year-to-date sales growth, demonstrating that consumers are open to a higher end experience with the Ginsu brand. Our Chikara cutlery is expanding the Ginsu franchise without cutting into our traditional Ginsu Home sales, so this is a win-win that expands our demographic appeal,” said Sarah Thielemier, director of sales, Ginsu Brands.
The Chikara collection includes knife essentials such as paring, utility, serrated, Santoku, chef and shears. Suggested retail prices range from $19.99 to $27.99 for open stock knives, and $79.99 to $259.99 for block sets.
