govino, the Napa Valley-based shatterproof wine drinkware company, has appointed Mark Buss as CEO.
Buss brings more than 30 years of global consumer packaged goods experience in strategic sales, marketing and overall business plan development and execution to govino. His work encompassed assisting entrepreneurs and leading small to mid-sized companies in developing global go-to-market approaches, according to the company.
Buss’s expertise spans the housewares, wine, tobacco, personal care and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently, Buss was president at MB Consulting and served as interim president of Vinturi. He has also held executive leadership positions at Philips-Saeco Group, Hamilton Beach Brands, Seymour Housewares Company and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Additionally, Buss worked at Philip Morris Cos. where he designed and executed the operational finance and management processes for Lindeman’s Wines in Australia.
As CEO of govino, Buss’s first endeavor includes the launch of the new 16-ounce “go anywhere” beer “glass.” The “go anywhere” beer glass, a reusable and recyclable beer vessel made from a BPA free polymer, will be available to consumers in spring 2014. Similar to other govino products, the “go anywhere” beer glass features govino’s signature thumb-notch design.
“Adding a beer glass to govino’s line of reusable wine glasses, flutes and decanters was a clear choice,” explains Buss. “There’s no other elegant, shatterproof alternative available in the market. The ‘go anywhere’ beer glass is the ideal glassware option for all beer drinkers.”
