Hudson’s Bay Company has appointed Douglas Scovanner as vp/finance and accounting, on an interim basis. This appointment gives Scovanner day-to-day responsibilities for the company’s financial planning, asset protection, and accounting functions. Prior to this appointment, Scovanner spent nearly two decades at Target Corporation, most recently as evp and CFO.
HBC’s governor and CEO Richard Baker noted, “Doug’s broad background in finance, where he led a 3,000-person organization, will maintain the stability we have had within our finance organization. Doug has been working with our business, in an advisory capacity, for the last several months, and has familiarity with our business, allowing for a smooth transition.”
The company also announced that Michael Culhane, HBC’s CFO, is on a personal leave of absence from the company. Donald Watros, COO of HBC, has assumed the additional responsibilities of acting CFO.
Other appointments made earlier this month include Jonathan Greller to president, Outlets. As president, Greller will lead all three HBC outlet banners: Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Lord & Taylor outlets and Hudson’s Bay outlets. Greller is formerly group SVP, private brand apparel, global sourcing and specialty for HBC and Lord & Taylor. Greller will report directly to the office of the chairman.
Stephen Cerrone has been appointed evp/Human Resources, HBC. Cerrone has recently served as Interim EVP, Human Resources, where he has led the organizational work related to the integration of Saks, and has been instrumental in developing the human resources strategies across the businesses, according to the company. He will report directly to the Office of the Chairman.
