Heirloom Cutlery Company has developed a Kickstarter campaign for its new Heirloom Chef Knife.
According to the company, the knife is wrapped in 67 layers of Damascus steel. Heirloom said it uses a quenching process during which each knife is dipped in liquid nitrogen set below -200 Fahrenheit for over 20 hours, which ensures the blade will hold its 15-degree cutting edge on the ultrasharp 8-inch blade.
The knife’s handle is made of pakka wood, which is engineered out of wood and plastic composite materials. Handle colors include denim blue, green over red, forest green and black.
The Heirloom Chef Knife is scheduled to ship in November.
